Lisbon Serviced Apartments - Avenida

  : Location - The property was in a good location, being a street located just off the main shopping area in Lisbon. There is a really good brunch restaurant right next door to the apartments which we would highly recommend.Staff - We were unable to gain access to our apartment upon arrival due to confusion with the security codes, however the cleaning staff were helpful in explaining the welcome email and the correct codes for each door.
  : Security - The door on the street to the property was often left ajar, meaning anyone on the street would be able to get up to any apartment door, therefore security was minimal especially considering this was a side street off one of the main roads in Lisbon. We were given a security code to gain access to this main door, however we only used this code once within the 3-night stay. Cleanliness - The cleaners trolleys would be left outside the apartment doors in the corridors at all times, therefore making the corridors cluttered. Although legal in Portugal, for any UK visitors it is worth noting that the apartment had a smell of marijuana in the late evening. There was a small kitchen unit behind a wardrobe door within the apartment, however having not been satisfied with the general cleanliness of the apartment and building, we avoided using this.Comfort - The mattress was very uncomfortable causing sleepless nights. This caused hip and back pain due to being so firm. Additionally, the walls were very thin in the apartment, therefore due to the location of our apartment we could hear the lift being used, neighbours talking in the corridor at all times of day, and also any time neighbours used their bathroom. We were overall disappointed with our stay as per the above comments. When entering the apartment we were disappointed with the room when comparing to the Booking.com photos, as the aesthetic of the apartment was not per the photos, and it is clear that the photos are dated and also may represent the best apartment in the building, therefore are not representative of this apartment as a whole.
